Little Ponderosa Weddings is a private wedding venue nestled on seven acres of native wild flowers in Smithville, Missouri. Created for couples who believe that bigger isn't always better, our setting offers a calm, meaningful alternative to traditional wedding celebrations.
We specialize in small, thoughtfully designed, all inclusive ceremonies for couples who value privacy, presence, and purpose over pageantry.

Couples may choose to exchange vows under the mature Silver Maple tree or beneath our custom wooden wedding arch situated within the field of flowers. Each setting is intentionally simple and romantic, creating a beautiful space for your ceremony and portraits.
The Quiet Vow:
A simple, elegant chenille drape in black or white over the ceremony tree or wooden arch.
Little Ponderosa Signature and Heirloom Ceremonies:
Our full signature styling - chenille drape with cascading florals flowing down the tree or arch in your choice of black or white.

The Officiant is included in each wedding package. Couples get their choice of a Christian, Non-Denominational or Other wedding based on their personal beliefs. Ceremonies last approximately eight to 10 minutes, or more, depending on the couples preference.

Our venue is designed with a smaller, adult wedding party in mind for those who value meaning over extravagance.
Each ceremony includes:
- The marrying couple
- Up to two witnesses
- One photographer
Total wedding party limit of five people including the couple. All guests must be 21 years of age or older. Availability is intentionally limited to preserve the calm and private nature of each ceremony.

Some couples just want to get married without any stress or external requests and expectations. Part of planning a wedding means determining who will be involved in the ceremony and who won't. Couples who do not have the required two witnesses or who are struggling to make that choice can utilize Little Ponderosa Weddings witnesses for an additional fee.

A simple, private ceremony focused entirely on the moment.

Our most requested experience, offering time, space, and thoughtful details.

- Fully decorated with white or black faux flowers and matching chenille drape

- 2 hours total on the property (includes ceremony and pictures)
- Access to all 7 acres on the mowed areas.
Heirloom Ceremony - $2800
A fully curated experience for couples seeing something truly special.

Our custom-designed wedding bands are created exclusively for couples married at Little Ponderosa Weddings. This unique design is available only through our venue and is never offered for general sale, making your rings a private symbol of your ceremony and your story. Little Ponderosa Nature Bands
Nature-inspired wedding bands designed to reflect the beauty of the Little Ponderosa Landscape. The floral band symbolizes growth and new beginnings, while the bark-textured band reflects strength and stability. Available in sterling silver and 10k gold. Pictures coming soon!

We specialize in elopements, micro weddings, commitment ceremonies, vow renewals, and symbolic ceremonies. Because the officiant is included in each package, couples also have the choice of a Christian, Non-denominational, or other ceremony.
The property is still in its winter dormancy so we are scheduling site visits starting in April 2026 as Spring comes alive! Please call, text, send an email, or use our Contact form to schedule your private tour. As a reminder, Little Ponderosa Weddings is on private property so appointments are required.
Little Ponderosa Weddings is designed for very intimate ceremonies. A maximum of five adults total may attend the ceremony. This includes the couple, witnesses, and photographer.
No. Alcohol, drugs, and smoking are not permitted anywhere on the property. Our goal is to provide a calm, respectful setting surrounded by nature.
No. The venue is designed as an adults-only (21+) ceremony space.
No animals are allowed on the property.
Your special day is reserved upon receipt of the $500 non-refundable deposit and signed Rental Agreement.
Quiet background music from a small portable speaker is welcome during the ceremony if it remains respectful of the natural setting. Large sound systems or amplified music are not permitted.
No additional decorations, candles, open flames, or flower petals are allowed. The ceremony space is already beautifully styled, and this policy helps protect the land and surrounding plants.
Weddings are are held Friday through Sunday, with select weekday openings for The Quiet Vow ceremony. Each package provides a reserved ceremony time - some also include full property access and up to two hours for photos.
Because all ceremonies at Little Ponderosa Weddings take place outdoors, we understand that weather and unexpected events can occur. If severe weather prevents your ceremony from taking place, we will gladly work with you to reschedule your ceremony to another available date. If a couple has to reschedule their ceremony due to unforeseen circumstances, they are allowed one reschedule based on availability. Rescheduling must occur within six months of the first date.
